With Gratitude

My family keeps me on course; illuminates my countless blessings. We’re a quirky bunch; never a dull moment. Family dinners are fabulously chaotic, filled with laughter, squeals of delight (& squawks of disapproval), engaging conversation, and honest opinions. Keeping it real, keeps us together.
“Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.” ― Michael J. Fox
I am infinitely grateful to my partner of four decades, Dan. Our relationship hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth the effort. I love and appreciate him and our life together more than anything. He has always supported my writing and believed in me. Thank you.
“ When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” ― Maya Angelou
I am equally grateful to our lovely daughters, Danielle, Geneva, and Alexis whose unfailing support, readiness to read my works-in-progress, and jubilant celebration of my successes, are appreciated more than I can say in words. My sons-in-law, Chase and Scott, for their support and care and hearty good humour that I love and appreciate so much. My amazing grandchildren, Romeo, Nadia, Atlas, and Archie, whom I love with all my heart and am incredibly blessed to have their love in return.

So much gratitude to my writing community, whose unfailing support and invaluable feedback lifts me up and pushes me one step at a time toward the writer I aspire to be. Kimberly Peterson, Yolande House, Hege Anita Jakobsen Lepri, Rowan McCandless, Tamara Jong, Sharon Wexler, Rachel Laverdiere--Thank you! You all rock!

Rachel Thompson, whose warmth, care, patience, and commitment to providing community, guidance and education to writers has helped me tremendously. Through her Writerly Love community, Rachel demystifies the lit mag submission process, offers courses and workshops in revision & polishing, building an online platform, setting goals, self-care, generating new content, and so much more. She has supported me in my writing, as well as on a personal level. Thank you, Rachel!
Nicole Breit, whose vision to push the boundaries of storytelling has changed the landscape of creative nonfiction writing. Through her writing programs, Nicole introduced me to forms that embrace the fragmented manner with which past traumatic events often unfold, taught me to be fearless in my writing but also to put self-care above everything. Several of the pieces I wrote in Nicole’s courses have been published! She is a brilliant teacher and lovely human. I am incredibly grateful for the care and support she has shown me. Thank you, Nicole!
To the many lovely writers who, over the years, engaged in feedback exchanges, workhops and/or writing courses with me—Thank you! Every one of you has helped me grow as a writer.
