Shirley Harshenin writes from her home in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. She believes in angels, caffeine, and the human spirit’s extraordinary resilience. Her work has been published in The Fiddlehead, Room, Contrary, The Journal of Compressed Creative Arts, Lit Mag Love Anthology: Blood & Water, Nailed, Crack the Spine, The Nasiona, FBCW Anthology, and others. She recently completed the 12-week writing program, Spark Your Story Intensive, and won gold at the 2023 National Magazine Awards for “One of a Kind Storytelling.” Shirley lives on the traditional, unceded territory of the Sylix Okanagan people. She enjoys canoeing, walks on the beach, collaging, and spending time with her family.
